ESG
Environmental, Social and Governance as a value driver — assessed against the IFC Performance Standards and tracked on GIIN metrics.
Overview
CarePoint has embraced ESG as a value driver and ascribes to global standards in its implementation. Our Environmental & Social Management System is based on the IFC Performance Standards, founded on the Plan-Do-Check-Act principles specified in the Good International Industry Practice standard.
The ESMS covers all phases of the operations cycle — from valuation of a target or construction of a new facility through to completing an acquisition and operating the facility — integrating ESG into core business operations through clearly defined, repeatable processes.
Impact metrics
Tracked against Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) objectives for healthcare investments:
- Expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare for low-to-middle income and underserved populations.
- Improving the quality and delivery of healthcare by building local capacity and human capital.
- Supporting healthcare facilities and enterprises through access to finance.
- Creating jobs and job opportunities for local employees in the healthcare sector.
Quality & Compliance
We ensure strict compliance with national guidelines for patient treatment through mandatory clinical audits and reviews of patient case notes. Patient files are encrypted and accessible only to authorized medical professionals.
A dedicated Quality & Compliance department runs periodic audits, partnered facility assessments, staff training and regulatory compliance.
SafeCare partnership
In 2021 we entered a three-year partnership with SafeCare, a subsidiary of the PharmAccess Group, to benchmark healthcare safety and quality. SafeCare is accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care External Evaluation Association. We report Level 2–4 SafeCare certification and continue to work toward Level 5 across all facilities.
